Eva Magnes, the sister of Judah L. Magnes, was born in Oakland, Calif., and graduated from the University of California at
Berkeley (1904). Her husband, Chester Jacob Teller was associated with the Hebrew Sheltering Guardian Society of New York
City and the Jewish Orphan Home in New Orleans. He also served as the executive director of the Jewish Welfare Board from
1917 to 1919. Eva and Chester's son, Walter Magnes Teller, was educated at Harvard and Columbia and was a noted author.
