Note:
George Washington Call, born 1829 in Ohio, married Marecedes de Leiva in Chile in 1866. They had nine children including Carlos
Asa Call their eighth child born at Fort Ross in 1880. G.W. Call purchased land at the Russian settlement of Fort Ross around
1872. G.W. Call built the schoolhouse at Fort Ross to teach his children and area children. In 1903 the fort was sold to the
Calif. Landmarks Committee.
William C. Morgan, known as "Uncle Billy" to Fort Ross residents, was the brother of the hotel operator.
