C.C. Julian became infamous for several major frauds, the most famous of which was his sale of excessive shares of stock in
"Julian Pete" (the Julian Petroleum Co.), following which he and partner S.C. Lewis were jailed. In 1933, Julian committed
suicide in Shanghai.
