Views and documentation of two stone jetties constructed parallel to the Oakland estuary as part of harbor improvement projects
between 1874 and 1894. Documentation was created prior to scheduled demilition of the north training wall. Includes contemporary
views (1999), copies of historic views, and aerial views. Text includes historical information on the Oakland harbor, the
Army Corps of Engineers, and engineer Colonel G.H. Mendell.
