Abstract:
The Lauren Coodley papers include correspondence; course materials related to classes she taught on the history of women from
the 1970s to the 2000s; and work she did for classes on women at UC Berkeley, including the script for the film, "Reflections,"
made as a class project for Comp Lit 140 (1972), and the essay "A Personal Approach to the Waves," a paper Coodley wrote for
English 203 (1974).
Digital files include a video interview with Lauren Coodley (2015) and the film, "Reflections," which was made as a class
project for Comp Lit 140 (1972).

Historian and poet Lauren Coodley was born in Los Angeles. She received her B.A. from University of California, Berkeley and
has several M.A.s, including one in history from Sonoma State University. As an undergraduate at Berkeley, Coodley participated
in the first four courses taught by the members of the Comparative Literature Women's Caucus, initially as a student, and
later as a collaborator and teaching assistant. Coodley taught courses in Women's Studies, psychology, and history at Napa
Community College for many years. She has written and edited numerous books and articles, including works on Napa and Upton
Sinclair.
