Abstract:
Martin Huff's oral history discusses the history, organization and operations of the California Franchise Tax Board during
his years as executive officer (1963-1979) including collection of personal income and business taxes, unitary system of corporate
taxation, relations with supervisory board, other state and federal fiscal agencies. References to George Miller, Jr., Jesse

Martin Huff was executive officer of the California Franchise Tax Board, 1963-1979 and auditor-controller for the city of
Oakland, California, 1958-1963. Earlier, he was active in the Alameda County and statewide Democratic party.
