Abstract:
Consists of 13 letters sent by the Franciscan missionaries in San Jose and Santa Clara Missions, to the Reverend Father Supply
Master of the missions of California, mostly between 1806 and 1811. The letters chiefly concern the needs of the missionaries,
such as basic supplies, as well as reports regarding the number occupying the different missions and the missionaries' concern
over the Mexican wars of independence. Also, two of the letters express the fears of some padres regarding the consequences
of their refusal to take the oath of allegiance to the Mexican Constitution.
