Anne Martin was born at Empire City, Nevada, a graduate of the University of Nevada in 1894, for many years head of its Department
of History, and an active suffragist who campaigned unsuccessfully in 1918 and 1920 for a seat in the U.S. Senate. Later she
was active in pacifist organizations.
