Abstract:

in size "AX") include commercial buildings (the Kent building, and the Tamalpais Hotel, apparently named in reference to the
Kent's California home), and street scenes showing livery stable and carriages, chiefly in the 1890s. Bay Area views include
Mount Tamalpais (trails, railway station and scenery), photograph of a sign from Kentfield, Calif. reading "Kent Woodlands,"
etc. Some photographs picture the development of Kent Woodlands, including some pre-development views. One show the future
Crown Road site, above Phoenix Lake. Snapshots of road development around Kent Woodlands are present. One small amateur photograph
shows Governor Theodore Roosevelt greeting Admiral Dewey, on a dock. Some views unidentified.
