Abstract:
36 ALS (ca. 600 pages) written primarily to his sister, "Nina," but including a few letters to his father. The letters cover
the young Conte de Monclar's stay in Mexico as an attache of the French Legation, from his arrival in March 1866 through the
fall of the Emperor Maximillian and the departure of the Legation from Mexico. The last two letters are written from New York
just prior to Monclar's setting sail to return to France.
