Gene Wright (1916-2004) was a professional photographer in San Francisco, California, from 1949 through 1985. He operated
a studio on Grant Avenue in the North Beach neighborhood, where he made portrait photographs and offered for sale his views
of the city of San Francisco. He closed his studio in 1985 but continued to take photographs.
