Creator/Contributor:
Sánchez Santamaría, Sergio, 1976-, creator, artist.
Abstract:
Album of bound original charcoal drawings by Sergio Sánchez Santamaría. Many images feature an anthropomorphic coyote figure
in revolutionary campesino attire with sombrero and sarape -- a theme common in the artist's work -- carrying a rooster, wielding
a machete or handgun, carrying a load of maiz, riding a bull, accompanied by a coyote, etc. Other themes and topics include
indigenous deities, agave and cactus plants, a molcajete, and a pyramid. The final drawing is a self-portrait.
