Title:
Clark Davis Miner Jr. Family Photograph Album, January 24-March 12, 1904
Abstract:
The leather-bound volume contains 28 silver gelatin prints documenting the Miner family's home life in San Francisco from
January to March 1904. The album depicts activities such as dressing up in costumes, sitting on the steps, and riding in an
open buggy. The family's front steps and back yard at 28 Hartford Street can be seen in a number of the images. Most of the
prints are accompanied by exact dates and hand-written, sometimes funny, captions such as "I Don't Want To" and "A Noble Protector."
All prints except one are pasted into the album. The album features all four members of the Miner family, although not all
at once, as well as an unidentified girl who poses with the two Miner children in one photograph. Many of the images depict
Clark Davis Miner Jr. posing either alone or with his younger sister Margaret. The leather cover is hand-stenciled with an
image of an iris flower which is colored pink with green leaves.
